AFTER 10 years of fundraising the 1st Whitchurch Scout Group is finally getting a new hall.
The group has been forced to build the hall because the old facility is run down. It's hoped the construction of £110,000 building at Bere Hill will be completed by Novem-ber.
Since fundraising began the group has raised £80,000 - £40,000 from the community and a £40,000 community grant from Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.
But the group is still £30,000 short, which means interior work will have to wait. Steve Robbins, group scout leader said: "It's been a long journey. It's really exciting after 10 years."
