ROADWORKS: Last Monday was the first day of the roadworks, and what a hold-up.
It took me nearly 40 minutes to get from Basingstoke to the surgery in New Road, so please allow extra time to get to appointments safely. With your help we can get through the next few weeks.
YOUTH: Those aged between 12 and 16 can chill out in room 12.16, at the community centre, this summer, every Tuesday in August, from 2pm to 4pm.
There will be football, snooker, snorkelling, cheap swimming, hockey, badminton, table tennis, darts, giant Jenga, and lots, lots more.
Admission is free, just bring your friends.
ACTIVITIES: There is something for everyone at the community centre during August.
Every Monday, from 10.30am to noon, your children can come and bounce on the bouncy castle, explore the inflatable undersea adventure maze, paint and play, with guest appearances from the Giddy Wizard.
Refreshments are available. Suitable for children aged four to six years, admission is £2. Parental supervision is required at all times
Every Tuesday, from 10.30am to noon, is the Cool Club Arts and Crafts Workshop, which has different activities every week, including card-making, designing your own T-shirts using tie-dyeing effects or fabric paints, glass painting and balloon modelling.
Suitable for six to 11-year-olds, admission is £3, and parental supervision is required at all times. Refreshments are available.
Paint your own pottery workshop is every Thursday, from 2.30pm to 4pm.
Choose from a range of pottery items and paint them with your own designs. This is suitable for eight years old and upwards and parental supervision is required.
INDOOR bowls: Would you like to start playing indoor bowls? The Hurst Bowls Club are a local indoor bowls club that play their bowls at the Hurst Leisure Centre. The season runs from the beginning of July to the end of April.
If you would like to have a go at any time there are qualified instructors at the club to teach you. So go on, give it a try.
