WEYBROOK Park's Andrew Cloke defied windy conditions to win the Brokenhurst Manor Golf Club Pro-Am.

Cloke's three-under-par round of 67, over the immaculate Brokenhurst course, gave him victory by a single shot from the home club's Martin LeMesurier, who was playing in the event during a break from his European Tour campaign.

Cloke, pictured above, got his round off to a fast start after holing a 30-yard pitch shot for eagle at the 316-yard first hole. Despite a bogey at the fourth he played par golf for the rest of his opening nine to reach the turn in one-under-par.

A birdie at the 11th was offset by a bogey at the 13th and then after driving the green at the 295-yard par four 14th he holed from 12 feet for the second eagle of his round. A birdie at the 15th took him to four-under-par but, after a bogey at the 17th, he was forced to settle for a round of 67.

LeMesurier recovered from a poor start to his round, which included a lost ball at the par three fifth hole, to play the back nine in a meagre 31 strokes. An eagle at the par four 15th hole and birdies at the 13th, 16th and 18th gave him a two-under-par round of 68.

Sandford Springs' Jonathan Barnes, who currently tops the Waltham Contractors Order of Merit standings, took third place after a level par round of 70 with five players, including Gary Stubbington, David Porter and Nick Smith, sharing fourth place on 71.

Alan Mew and his Stoneham team of Andy Bow, Andy Howarth and David Brookes won the Pro-Am with a 15-under-par score of 125. Andrew Cloke's team of Vic Grant, Jason Turner and Paul Terry took second place on 127, with LeMesurier's team of Brian Mullen, George Hutton and Derek Kelly taking third place after a countback.
