THERE'S a rare opportunity to see one of the most distinctive groups of the 80s and 90s at Ferneham Hall, Fareham this week.

The Fine Young Cannibals, fronted by distinctive singer Roland Gift, will be reminding you of their greatest hits as part of their first full UK tour since 1992.

The band got their big break while filming for the groundbreaking Channel 4 music show The Tube. Their performance of Johnny Come Home led to a record deal and marked the beginning of an intense period of activity for the soulful outfit.

Their second album, The Raw and the Cooked, saw them graduate to a world-class act.

Songs they will be pulling out of the classic bag of pop-meets-rock'n'roll hits include She Drives Me Crazy, Ever Fallen in Love and Suspicious Minds.

Ferneham Hall, Fareham, Wednesday. Performance: 8pm. Tickets: £16.50. Box office: 01329 231942.
