SUMMER fayre: This is the big bash for the Old Basing schools.

It starts at 1.30pm, tomorrow, in the grounds of St Mary's Church of England Junior School.

The raffle looks excellent with a dishwasher as the main prize and a balloon ride as the second. The third prize is a meal for two at Bartons Mill.

The kids will be well catered for with so many stalls. The one that caught my eye was "Splat the Rat".

Don't worry about food because there is a barbecue, home-made cakes and hand-made sweets.

Admission for adults is 50p with free entry for children.

Car parking spaces will be in short supply, so if you can leave your car at home it will be a great help.

For more information, call Heidi on 811909 or Rosie on 351614.

ART exhibition: This annual display of work by local artists is to be held at the Legion, tomorrow, starting at 11.30am and finishing at 3.30pm.

There are no less than 60 exhibits on display, most of which are available to be purchased by the public.

RECORDS: These are being broken regularly with the price of houses in the parish, but I think the latest price has blown the record to pieces.

The large house just off Redbridge, in Redbridge Lane, is up for sale for £1,350,000.

ALLOTMENT Society: More than 100 bargain hunters were at the Allotment Society's plant sale in Rileys Lane.

The weather was perfect, with punters fetching and carrying an assortment of plants, which were sold at bargain prices.
