TWO race fans were injured at Thruxton after a bike somersaulted into the crowd during yesterday's British Superbike Championship meeting.

The incident, at Thruxton's Campbell's Corner, involved Huddersfield rider Dijon Compton and left one spectator in need of hospital treatment.

Another was taken to the medical centre at the circuit but neither was believed to be seriously injured.

On a day when Michael Rutter and Sean Emmett won the two big superbike races, championship leader John Reynolds crashed out and broke his collarbone.
