What's on the local music scene this week.

Celebrated singer, actress and producer Elaine Paige is taking to the stage at the Bournemouth International Centre on Thursday.

Elaine first enjoyed chart success in 1978 and reached her highest position in 1985 with Barbara Dixon when I Know Him So Well went to number one. Elaine is often nicknamed 'the first lady of British musical theatre'. Audiences at the BIC are sure to see for themselves that it's an accolade she deserves.

ONE of the hottest young rock and roll bands in the UK is coming to the Wedgewood Rooms this week.

On Tuesday four-piece band Razorlight will becoming to the Portsmouth venue. The gig comes a day before the release of their third single, Golden Touch, taken from their debut album, Up All Night, which will be released on June 21.

MIDGE Ure is headlining the Roots Weekender at Ryde Theatre on the Isle of Wight on Saturday. Also appearing tomorrow are Karnataka, while on Sunday, the weekender continues with Country Joe MacDonald taking to the stage.

TOP pianist Keigh Ingham will be bringing taste and style to the International Jazz Night at the Concorde Club in Eastleigh on Wednesday. Ingham first played piano at the tender age of then but it was a decade later that he began to take it seriously. Keith will be playing a range of jazz styles which are sure to delight audiences. He will be joined on Wednesday by Dave Green on drums and Steve Brown on double base.

TAKE a trip to the heyday Cavern Club without leaving Southampton tonight by going to The Brook.

The Postswood venue is playing host to top Beatles tribute band The Silver Beatles. The local version of the Fab Four will play all their idol's greatest hits.
