STAFF at Wise Employment in Basingstoke are celebrating, after consultant Charna Porter came second in a company-wide competition.

Charna (pictured above) was first runner-up in the firm's lists of consultants who placed the highest number of people in new positions over the last quarter.

Having worked in the recruitment industry for three years, she was very proud of the achievement, having been part of the team that started the Basingstoke branch of Wise just two months ago.

Charna explained: "I was really pleased to have come second because we've been working really hard to set up the new branch, and it's nice to have achieved this, having started a client base from scratch.

"This recognition of my hard work and achievement has given me even more determination to come first next quarter!"

Operations manager Leigh Walker said: "Charna is an outstanding consultant who recognises the needs of both sets of customers - the applicant and the client company.

"She really gets to know her applicants, gaining a great understanding of the type of industry, company and environment that they wish to work in, allowing her to focus on their exact requirements.

"With her client companies, she also ensures that she understands what they are looking for and has a very honest consultative approach."

This has obviously stood Charna in good stead within the company, as she beat 15 other consultants, across the Wise network, to claim her prize.

Her success has come mostly from placing customer service and internal sales personnel within blue-chip organisations.

As Charna's success looks set to continue, so does that of the Basingstoke branch, which, since opening at the end of March, has already begun to make a significant impact in the local market.

Wise is an expanding independent recruitment agency with a 12-branch network across the Thames Valley, Wiltshire and the South West.

It specialises in the placement of temporary and permanent personnel, within office, call centre, linguistics, industrial and driving sectors.

On top of these traditional positions, their portfolio of jobs also includes on-site management, advertisement response handling, contract staffing, payroll service and training.

All applicants registered with Wise can benefit from free software training and advice on CV layout and interview techniques.

The company has also just launched a driving scheme to help Class C drivers upgrade their licence to a Class C+E (and benefit from up to 50 per cent cashback).

Client companies can take advantage of free customised skill evaluations, salary surveys and legislative updates that affect the recruitment industry.
