THE Winchester to Salisbury Mitre Tri triathlon takes place on July 11.
Supported by holders Southampton Triathlon Club, the event is expected to meet its limit of a record 300 pool starters or 500 in total. It comprises a 600m swim in Winchester, 40K cycle from Winchester to Salisbury and 10K run in Salisbury.
Now in its fifth year, the Mitre Tri starts out at the ATR Sir John Moore Barracks in Winchester after an extensive refurbishment of the swimming pool there. Return transport is available back from Salisbury to Winchester.
