A NEW service which helps parents of children with disabilities has been launched in Southampton.
Right From The Start aims to support parents as soon as they receive the news that their child has, or may have, a disability.
It will provide them with information, guide them to the relevant services and offer emotional support.
The need for the service has been highlighted through the recommendations in the government document Together from the Start. The Right From The Start service has been funded by the Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership, and provided by Southampton Mencap.
It will support parents living in Southampton with a child under the age of three, who has been identified with a disability or who is undergoing treatment to identify a possible disability.
