THE OPENING practice round of the Challis Tackle Open Evening series at the Peril Lake in Charlton, with inclement weather forecast for the duration, only attracted seven hopefuls to the popular venue.
The winner, with 8lb 1oz, consisting mainly of a single carp, was JBS Builders-sponsored former national champion Les Thirlaway.
