I AM writing my article this week in memory of a very special and great friend of mine, who died recently.

He never lived in Tadley, he lived in Jersey, but enjoyed many visits to our town with his wife.

He will be greatly missed by his family and all those who knew him. He was truly a great and loyal friend to me and my family.

APOLOGY: This brings me onto an apology - I am sorry if you have left messages for bits for my article. When I go away I have to write them three weeks in advance, and unless I announce it in the paper, which is unwise, you may, on occasions, miss out, for which I apologise.
