AFTER six months cruising in the exotic Canary Islands, the Jubilee Sailing Trust's tall ship Lord Nelson has returned to her home dock in Southampton.
The vessel, which is sailed by a crew of physically disabled and able-bodied local people to promote integration and understanding, is one of two tall ships run by the trust.
It set sail for the Canaries back in October last year on a number of voyages before returning home to the city and will take place in the European Tall Ships Race this summer.
Charlotte Davies, of the trust, said that the six-month voyage had been a great success.
"It has been a really successful season and a chance to escape the winter weather. Now we are looking forward to taking part and doing well in the race in June."
There are still a limited number of places on board Lord Nelson in voyages over the coming year. Although there is a permanent crew of ten, there are 40 other places for volunteers.
