STAFF from Winton School will be scaling the dizzy heights of Britain's tallest mountains this weekend to raise money for the Andover school's vision of a new school for Ghana.
They are set to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon in 36 hours without stopping in a bid to bring schooling to part of a country where youngsters normally have to pay for an education.
The school's ADOM project began in 2002 with the aim of raising £25,000 to build a school in Ghana which all children can use.
It was inspired by maths teacher Peter Donkor who visited Ghana and wanted to do something to improve the standard of education there.
Learning support assistant Viv Derbyshire said: "Foundations will be laid for the school this year and hopefully enough money will be raised to complete this and the building of the school.
"We want to call the school Winton School Ghana."
The team of five have been training hard for the challenge by climbing mountains in the Brecon Beacons.
