A story in the Andover Advertiser has inspired the Alexandra Trust charity to give cerebral palsy sufferer Kerry-Rose Sheppard a brand-new bicycle.

After reading Kerry-Rose's story, Jo Plumber, who is chair of the Andover charity, chose to offer some of the trust's funds to buy a bike which will increase Kerry-Rose's mobility.

And now Kerry-Rose, aged 10, who lives in Gainsbor-ough Court, Artists Way, Andover, has chosen a pink bike which will be officially handed over to her once it is made.

Saxon Wood near Basingstoke, the school which Kerry-Rose attends, will benefit from the £565.85 raised by the Wyvern Dance Band from a fundraising barn dance.

The Alexandra Trust is also planning to buy a new wheelchair for another Andover girl with cerebral palsy.

The charity was set up two years ago with the aim of helping local children who have physical disabilities.
