Veteran walker, Jim Blake, looked in at Marwell Zoo to check the progress of the latest development for ocelots.
While there, Jim (72), from Bagshot, Surrey, also did a test lap in preparation for prowl in the park, a fund-raising sponsored walk to be held at the zoo in May.
Funds are needed to complete the ocelot exhibit and the zoo's next venture, accommodation for bat-eared foxes.
Prowl in the Park is on Sunday, May 16th, and the route is around the zoo's main path. Walkers can do as many laps as they can manage so the event is suitable for most ages and abilities.
Provided walkers achieve at least £15 of sponsorship in advance, admission to the zoo is free. As an incentive, the person who raises the most money will be awarded a year's free membership of the zoo.
