CHILDREN from a primary school near Winchester armed themselves with paintbrushes, coloured pens and pencils on a special visit to the city.
The Year Five and Six pupils from Owslebury Primary School took a trip to the Guildhall Gallery for an art workshop with local artist Alastair Eales.
The session was inspired by "Map the Fantastical", an exhibition of children's fantasy maps created during the "Painting a World of Friendship" exhibition in Winchester last October.
The youngsters played a variety of drawing games before looking at the work on display and working in groups to turn a map into a landscape picture. Owslebury is just one of six local primary schools taking part in the workshops.
