IF there are two songs that will get die-hard fans of The Levellers up on their feet it has to be One Way and It's a Beautiful Day.
Both were performed brilliantly at Southampton Guildhall by one of the best bands to come out of Brighton.
More interested in fighting the government's Criminal Justice Act than making it on to Top of the Pops, The Levellers have a unique sound and, with Jon Sevnik on the fiddle, never disappointed.
They performed a mixture of old and new tracks during their rousing set which lasted well over an hour.
Once it was over, singer Mark Chadwick led the band back on to the stage for three encores.
He may have moaned that he couldn't find a decent pub in Southampton but he couldn't have any complaints about the audience.
The Levellers were supported by another Brighton band, She Said, who provided the perfect prelude to a brilliant performance.
