IT HAS only been open for 18 months but already Southampton's White Star Tavern and Dining Rooms has been recognised for culinary excellence.
The Oxford Street venue has been voted the Les Routiers Restaurant of the Year for south and south-east England.
Located in the heart of the city's restaurant row and named after the shipping company synonymous with the area, the White Star's prestigious award follows recommendations in both the Michelin and the Good Food guides.
Co-owner Mark Dodd said: "We are truly delighted."
