Andover lost out on penalties to Lymington & New Milton in the Hampshire Senior Cup on Saturday.
Lymington raced into a two-goal lead in the first half, but were pegged back by strikes from Vince Rusher and Danny Sullivan to send the game into extra-time.
When Sam Rea headed home it looked as though the Lions would be progressing to the next round, but the Linnets scored a controversial penalty - then won the spot-kick competition 4-2 to seal victory.
