VT GROUP, the Hampshire based support services and shipbuilding company, has consolidated its position as one of the UK's leading suppliers of military training by extending its two contracts to train the British Army's mechanical and electrical engineers.
The three-year extensions, with options for the Ministry of Defence to extend for up to two further years, are worth nearly £100m and take effect from early next year.
VT has its headquarters at Hedge End and two shipyards at Southampton and Portsmouth.
Training at two Hampshire garrisons is now provided to more than 5,000 soldiers and civilians a year at all levels up to degree standard.
