Lyn are keen to bring Southampton's Jo Tessem back to Oslo.

The Norwegian club have confirmed the versatile forward is on their list of targets now that he is failing to hold down a regular place at St Mary's.

The 31-year-old left Lyn to join Molde before heading for England and director Morgan Andersen said: "Jo Tessem is of course interesting for Lyn.

"We are in dialogue but his contract does not end until the summer of 2005.

"Of course, we can't match his wages there but he is on our list, no doubt about that."

Andersen met with Tessem at an awards show earlier this week.

The plan is for Lyn to unveil a new manager and some new arrivals on the playing staff at the same time.

Former Liverpool defender Stig Inge Bjornbye is favourite for the coaching role.

"We will also present some new players then," added Andersen.

Saints are rumoured to be interested in signing Brentford keeper Paul Smith as a replacement for Paul Jones should the Welsh international decide to leave during the January transfer window.

Ex-Saints midfielder Carlton Palmer has applied for the vacant Bradford manager's job.
