MORE than 70 people gathered in the Bourne Valley Inn at St Mary Bourne on Monday to find out if Derek Kane was the weakest link.
Derek, aged 47, invited friends, family and villagers to watch as he battled it out against eight other contestants on the BBC 2 game show, The Weakest Link.
He left everyone in suspense until the show was broadcast on Monday, when a TV was set up in the pub so his friends and family could watch him in action. The show had been recorded in April.
He said: "I went on the show because I thought I could be quite cheeky to Anne.
"I thought my knowledge and personality would get me to the end."
In round six Derek was voted off by the remaining contestants.
"I organised for everyone to watch the show because it was an excuse for a party and I was quite pleased with my performance," he said.
