AN EVENING of pure rock'n'roll magic is on offer at Salisbury City Hall next month when Buddy Holly and the Cricketers revive the music of the legendary 1950s performer.
The popular tribute act will be dusting off such classic Buddy songs as That'll Be the Day, Peggy Sue, Heartbeat, It Doesn't Matter Anymore, Raining In My Heart and Oh Boy! for their show on Wednesday December 10.
The respected and influential singer-songwriter was born Charles Hardin Holley in Texas, USA in 1936, but died in a plane crash at the age of 22 in 1959, after only the briefest of careers.
The tragedy, often dubbed "the day the music died", sealed Buddy's legendary status and ensured his records are as popular today as ever.
In his lifetime, he enjoyed two top ten hits in the UK, but his first and only number one was the posthumous It Doesn't Matter Anymore in 1959.
The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £12.50, with concessions available. To book, or for further information, call the box office on 01722 327676.
