NEW principal conductor John Traill from the Isle of Wight will be leading the City of Southampton Orchestra at Southampton Guildhall on Saturday.
"Having benefited from the vast resources of music-making offered in the region, I am privileged to take up this post and the responsibilities that go with it," said John, 24.
"I am looking forward to working with Southampton's musicians and entertaining its public."
Saturday's concert features guest soloist Tom Poster, who will be performing the Grieg Piano Concerto. Other highlights of the programme include Rimsky-Korsakov's Le Coq D'Or and Sibelius's Fifth Symphony.
