A CHEF from the Bourne Valley Inn, St Mary Bourne has raised more than £2,700 to undertake a sponsored climb of Kilimanjaro in aid of disability organisation Scope.
Steve Ings, aged 52, from Ludgershall completed his fundraising by holding a Halloween disco which raised more than £265 and a teddy bear naming competition. The Bear Factory in Basingstoke donated teddy bears for Steve's competition and a Ted the Bear costume to make people aware of the event.
Steve is now preparing for the adventure which he starts on 21 January.
"I have started walking about three hours a day, twice a week and going to the gym," he said.
