The match saw some cracking weights of chub and grayling with Hambidge, who has been in tremendous form in recent weeks, taking 49lb 10oz of grayling to just over 1lb 8oz on float and maggot.

Neil Tappin took nine quality chub to 5lb for 37lb 2oz on waggler and maggot for second, with Poingdestres' Pete Newman third with 26lb 10oz of chub and grayling on waggler and maggot. Dynamite Baits' Simon Hambidge finished fourth with a 4lb chub plus grayling for 22lb 6oz, with John Banks fifth with an all-grayling haul for 22lb 2oz. Graham Collins was sixth with 21lb 8oz. Poingdestres' Pete Newman won the trout prize with 45lb 8oz of trout.

The Beaumont Cup saw Wareham go into the final match on Golden Springs with a 15-point advantage, but an inspired final match thrust by Christchurch saw Wareham hang on by the skin of their teeth by one point. Christchurch took 82.5 section points from Ringwood (79 points), with Wimborne third on 69 and Wareham fourth with 68.5.

Final points Wareham 171.5, Christchurch 170.5, Ringwood 136, Wimborne 121.

Individually, Simon Barber (Wimborne) took five bream plus tench and roach on a mixture of waggler and pole tactics to almost double the weight of nearest rival John Legge (Ringwood), with 14lb 15oz of tench and skimmers, and Stuart Halliday third with 11lb.
