Meon Valley golfer David Lawrence has won the inaugural Volvo Golf Club final at Wentworth.
Five-handicapper Lawrence played some outstanding golf over the Edinburgh Course, where he opened up with a level par 72 for 45 Stableford points.
With what was almost an unassailable lead going into the second day, Lawrence found the treacherous West Course greens a handful, but still returned a creditable 24 points for a total of 69.
And to crown an unforgettable two days for the Meon Valley man, three-times Ryder Cup captain Bernard Gallagher handed over the trophy.
The Volvo Club competition was set-up this year with nine regional events throughout the British Isles. The club has already amassed close to 500 members.
