SAINTS legend Francis Benali, pictured right, is expected to make this evening's Round Table firework spectacular in Southampton go off with a bang.

Thousands of people are expected to watch Benali host the official countdown to start the display in Mayflower Park, which is supported by the Daily Echo.

Organiser David Rayner said: "Not only have we spent far more on the actual fireworks this year, but the excellent funfair will open at 2.30pm on Saturday afternoon and offer half price rides for everyone until 5pm.

"In addition, for all Saints fans, Francis Benali will be doing the countdown to start the display, as Franny and his wife have kindly agreed to support the event".

In association with Southampton City Council and Williams Shipping, Wave FM roadshow DJs Matt Hopper and Howard Pearce will be entertaining the crowds.

The display starts at 7.15pm and tickets can be bought on the gate or in advance from the Daily Echo shop.

They are also available from the city information office costing £3 for adults or £1 for those aged three to 16.

Mr Rayner added: "It is going to be another great night for Southampton.

"We hope that thousands of people will be in Mayflower Park to see the spectacular display and to raise funds for our nominated charities, which are Radio Lollipop and Macmillan Cancer Relief."
