ANDOVER Golf Club supporters who attended last week's full borough council meeting were delighted to hear that the site has been removed from the borough local plan.
Changes made at the meeting mean the threat of housing on the land has been removed.
Andover Golf Club president Tony Broad said: "I would like to thank all suppliers, our friends from other golf clubs and the general public for their support of the retention of Andover Golf Club and to express our sincere acknowledgement to our council for what I feel was a very wise and long-sighted decision on behalf of Andoverians past, present and future.
"Thursday evening's support was most gratifying."
