"There's no justice in football," groaned Downton manager Mitch Blake after watching Andover score twice in stoppage time to snatch all three points away from his side at Wick Lane.

"We've competed so well and worked hard and I didn't think that Andover really looked like scoring today yet they've done us with two goals in the 92nd and 97th minutes and that is so disappointing," bemoaned Blake.

Following their 9-0 drubbing at Lymington & New Milton in midweek, Downton looked like causing a major upset when they took the lead after 20 minutes after Matt Guy teed up his brother Jason to score from 20 yards.

But the Robins started rocking when Danny Barker equalised with a far-post header as the match moved into injury time.

And, with time almost up, Alan Kennedy's shot was only beaten out by the home 'keeper, allowing Sam Rae to pounce for an unlikely 2-1 smash 'n' grab success.

It proved a day of comebacks as Wimborne maintained the league's only unbeaten record the hard way at lowly Whitchurch.

The high-flying Magpies were trailing to Chris Iddles's first-half strike for Whitchurch but second-half doubles from Darren Powell and Mark Smith eventually eased Wimborne home by a 4-1 margin.

Magpies manager Paul Arnold said: "We were well below par in the first half but we stepped things up in the second half and eventually ran out comfortable winners."

Former Salisbury favourite Ian Chalk gave Bemerton HH an interval lead at Thatcham, but the Berkshire side hit back to record a 2-1 victory.

Chalk netted the goal of the game when he controlled Paul Palmer's cross superbly before coolly chipping the Town 'keeper to give Harlequins a 32nd minute lead.

After the break, Matt Czastka equalised and then Ian Davies popped up with a late winner, leaving Bemerton boss Steve Slade to reflect: "We've created enough chances to have won it and been punished for not taking them - we've thrown away three golden points."

AFC Newbury also scooped maximum points - their 3-0 win at Cowes Sports was their first-ever victory on the Isle of Wight!

The game was effectively over after just 35 minutes as strikes from Ian McSherry, Dave Asker and Anthony Alleyne wrapped up the points for Guy Whittingham's men.

Winchester City returned to the top of the SWL summit following their 2-1 success at home to Hamble ASSC.

Striker Andy Forbes had already rattled the woodwork when he gave his side the lead on 31 minutes by sweeping home a Shaun Dyke cross.

Michael Dean also saw his effort thump the bar before City doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time when Danny Smith netted from Dyke's corner. Hamble pulled one back through substitute Tef Edin with ten minutes remaining.
