BOB GELDOF, Jools Holland and Rolf Harris are among the star names set to entertain in Hampshire's biggest live music event of the summer.

More than 50 bands from all over the world will be performing before an anticipated audience of 50,000 in a circus-style big top on Leigh Road Recreation Ground, Eastleigh, as well as other venues around the town.

The seven-day festival runs from Monday to Sunday August 3 and features a host of well-known names. The Drifters, The Levellers and The Saw Doctors will all be plying their musical magic, while solo stars include Rolf Harris and Dennis Locorriere of Dr Hook fame.

One of the highlights of the festival promises to be a performance by The SAS Band, whose line-up includes such stars of the 70s, 80s and 90s as Leo Sayer, Graham Gouldman of 10cc fame, Fish from Marillion and Chris Thompson from Manfred Mann's Earth Band.

As well as the big name concerts, the festival will feature free world music concerts every lunchtime, free family and children's entertainment every afternoon, a week-long craft fair and an international food fair.
