TWO contrasting productions for younger theatre-goers promise to be a monster hit all over again at Southampton's Nuffield Theatre this weekend.
Originally produced at the Nuffield last year and toured around the UK ever since, Not Now, Bernard and Other Monster Stories and Abomination are performed by Southampton based actors Verity Hewlett, Milenka James and Adam Ward.
Not Now Bernard is based on the popular children's picture book by David McKee, who also created King Rollo and Mr Benn.
The imaginative production, featuring an elaborate monster costume, tells the story of a young boy who is constantly ignored by his parents - even after being eaten by an enormous purple monster.
Abomination is a darker tale for teenagers based on prizewinning writer Robert Swindells' novel of the same name, about a bullied girl who lives in a nightmarish world of her own.
Not Now, Bernard and Other Monster Stories - 26 -27 July, 11am and 2pm both days. Abomination - 26 July at 7.30pm, 27 July at 6.30pm. Tickets: £6. Box office: 023 8067 1771.
