OTs & Romsey (208 for 9) beat Lymington (171 a/o) by 37 runs

Lymington arrived at the Bypass Ground having lost four of their last five matches and were effectively out of the title chase.

Winning the toss OTR batted first and got off to a bright start. Charles Forward (65) and Max Smith (20) put on 50 in 11 overs and although the usually reliable Goan Raj Naik failed, Jody Brown (22) and Ian Tulk (34) kept the scoreboard ticking over nicely.

At 168 for 4 with 10 overs to go OTR looked set to post a good score but Lyminton fought back, taking wickets at key moments.

There were three wickets apiece for Glyn Treagus and Mike West, and Eugene Burzler picked up two as OTR closed on 208 for 9.

There was a youthful look to the Lymington batting line-up, who failed to cope with the ever consistent bowling of openers Moukesh Morjaria (12-1-28) and Jeremy Ord (12-3-35). At halfway the score was 57 for 4 and Lymington were up against it.

Seasoned campaigners Ben Craft (39) and Treagus (41) put up a fight, but two wickets apiece for spinners Naik and Smith saw off the Lymington challenge, and they were eventually bowled out for 171. OTR took 22 points, Lymington 8.
