MARC Burchill fired a 12-minute hat-trick as a youthful Pompey XI caned Havant 6-0 at Westleigh Park last night in front of a ground record attendance of 2,500.
Burchill opened the scoring when he pushed home Carl Robinson's through ball in the 14th minute.
Eight minutes later Burchill again defeated Gareth Howells with a fine finish from a Courtney Pitt cross.
He completed his devastating spell from the penalty spot in the 26th minute after Gareth Hall had fouled him inside the box.
After Burchill had hit the bar, Chris Clark made it 4-0 in the 36th minute.
The second half saw wholesale changes by Pompey while the Hawks offered only Norman Sylla into the mix at the expense of Brett Poate in the 66th minute.
Further goals came from Rowan Vine and Clark.
