The first consignment of British-built Toyota Avensis cars has passed through Southampton Docks on its way to Japan.
Around 350 vehicles built at the company's plant in Burnaston are due to arrive in the port of Tahara, Japan on August 21 ready to go into showrooms in the autumn.
It was in January of this year that the company started manufacturing the new Avensis, originally launched in 1997, alongside the Toyota Corolla.
