CHILDREN and parents at the Thorold Playgroup in Bitterne, Southampton, celebrated its 20th birthday in style when they combined the event with the completion of a makeover project.
Earlier in the year a team from the Adult Learning Project helped to revamp the outdoor play area at the playgroup, in Lacon Close.
Staff and parents from the facility finished off the work to coincide with their birthday party.
Jenni Simmonds, from the playgroup, said: "The day went brilliantly. We had a great big cake and we had Tots of Fun, who came and provided a soft play area.
"Mr Bumble the magician came and gave them a show and they did things like fishing for ducks and marble roll painting - little fairground games."
