A GOVERNMENT minister has singled out a small Hampshire primary school for praise over staff organisation.
School standards minister David Miliband congratulated Compton All Saints Church of England Primary School, Winchester, for its progress in introducing workforce reform at a national conference.
The conference was held in London to mark the sixth-month anniversary of the National Agreement on raising standards and tackling workload made between government, employers and unions.
Mr Miliband said: "I am very impressed by the steps that Compton All Saints Church of England Primary School has taken towards reforming its workforce - these have had clear benefits for the staff and the pupils.
"Compton All Saints provides a great example."
The Compton Street school was given government funding to explore different ways of organising its staff. New ideas piloted included employing a resource manager, a support staff manager and a data entry officer. The first phase of workforce reform will be introduced in Hampshire schools from September.
