SHIPTON BELLINGER couple Gordon Measures and Jean Randall have proved that you are never too old to find new love.
The same vicar who held a supper party where Gordon, aged 69, and Jean, aged 70, first met each other socially, will be marrying them tomorrow.
The Rev Brian Tims, of St Peter's Church, said: "All the congregation wish them as much joy as we can. It's like some sort of fairy tale - it really is a lovely story."
Gordon and Jean have been actively involved in Shipton Bellinger life for some time. They are both on the village committee and Gordon is chairman of the horticultural society.
Gordon has proved himself quite a romantic - he has hired a 1929 Rolls Royce to transport Jean to the church.
The couple say they are looking forward to a happy future together after both experiencing the bereavement of a partner.
Jean said: "He is a very kind man who is so thoughtful. I never thought I'd meet someone again after being on my own for 13 years."
