YOUNGSTERS have been honoured for their achievements in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme.
Forty young people who secured gold status were praised for their efforts at the event at The Great Hall in Winchester.
The Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire Mary Fagan attended together with mayors from across the county.
The Duke of Edinburgh will be presenting the gold awards at St James Palace in the coming weeks.
The night was arranged by The Hampshire Forum, which draws together local authorities involved in the scheme.
Bob Rhodes, key awards officer for Hampshire, said: "By achieving a gold award, young people get a real sense of achievement.
"For many, taking part in it is a life-changing experience and gives them a real impetus for the start of their careers."
