POLICE are investigating whether a fire at a Wickham school was the result of an arson attack.
It is believed the blaze at the 186-pupil Wickham Church of England school in Buddens Road was started deliberately in rubbish bins that were outside a storage room and classroom.
Equipment in the storage area was destroyed and an adjoining Year three classroom has been closed because of water damage.
A school spokesman said one class would have to be moved to another area of the school while the damage was assessed.
Fire crews and police were called out at 1.45am today after a 999 call.
Twelve firefighters from Fareham and Wickham brought the blaze under control by 3am.
