ALISTAIR Pratt (Stephen Rea) is the host of the titular website - a spooky but seemingly harmless portal about things that go bump in the night, laden with Shockwave-type animated images of creaking doors and ghouls.
Unbeknownst to web users, the site channels all of the visitors' negative energy and turns it against them, presenting them with horrific images of their greatest fears.
Within the space of 48 hours, they die.
Police officer Mike Reilly (Stephen Dorff) and public health inspector Jerry Houston (Natascha McElhone) become ensnared in Pratt's deadly game of mind warfare, and must fend off their greatest fears to stop the techno-torturer before he claims more lives.
