This Glasgow quartet formed in 1998, released a new single last week, with a new album out next week.

Stephen Fleming formed the band with ex-member Daniel Wylie and together they released two self-penned, self-produced albums on their own label Raft Records. Entitled Deliverance and Panorama, both were recorded in a community-funded studio and received outstanding reviews in the music press.

Consequently they landed a deal with Poptones Records - the newly formed label of ex-Creation Record's boss Alan McGee. He released their third album Enjoy The Melodic Sunshine in 2000 - an amalgamation of material from the first two albums and three new tracks. Again the press considered it a winner and one journo proclaimed them, 'the best band on earth right now.'

Their third single from the album, Revolution (In The Summertime?), won the lads their first top 40 position. The album went on to gain silver status and was listed as one of Q magazine's top 50 albums of the year.

In March last year Daniel left the band and Stephen stepped into the lead vocalist's shoes. They spent the remainder of the year writing music for their new album and playing a few select dates - including guest slots with Robert Plant and Lenny Kravitz at Wembley Arena.

The new album is another self-penned, self-produced project entitled Too Close To See Far, which will be released on the band's own label Measured Records.

The band reportedly cut a fine line in sunny sounding harmonies. Although they carry the usual guitar-based indie pop tag, their music is solid old-fashioned stuff, backed up by exceptional live performances. They have drawn comparison with the Beach Boys and Travis, so should have a fairly broad appeal.
