MAJOR work is in hand to try and reduce the number of accidents on a notorious stretch of Sandown road.
Measures including improved signing will be installed along Yaverland Road, between the Grand Hotel and Marshcombe Shute, in a £20,000 project.
The steps, welcomed by residents, follow ten accidents - one fatal - on the stretch of road in the past five years.
