In the biggest and most important fixture in the history of the club, Romsey need only to avoid defeat against already-relegated Hamble to secure their place in London Division Four South-West for the first time.

Romsey's stunning victory over Farnborough a fortnight ago has gifted them a golden opportunity to secure the automatic promotion place, and leave the north Hampshiremen with the lottery of the play-off against the second best side in Surrey One.

But they are not taking anything for granted and coach Bryan Musk has drummed into his charges that any sign of complacency against the lowly Riversiders - who have not won a game this season - could spell trouble. He has named a 20-man squad from which he will choose the strongest available side for the game.

He said: "This is the biggest game in our history so we are going there with the best side so as not to belittle Hamble."

"They have nothing to lose and everything to gain and my players must realise that. It's not just about turning up expecting to win. Be it by one point or 20 points, then that will suffice. The lads cannot be complacent whatsoever."

Former Havant and Winchester flanker Nick Roach has recovered from his accidental kick to the head in the Farnborough game, while Grant Oughton and Simon Coe are added to the 18 on duty two weeks back.

However, they will be up against a hyper-charged Hamble side that are looking to break their own season-long duck and club captain George Winch feels that his side are really up for the game.

"Recently, we have had a new nucleus of players who want to play next season join up.

"So if Romsey are nervous about coming to our place, then they cannot expect us just to roll over for them. We would like to spoil their party and are going all out to do it."
