Harry Redknapp reckons this could be a great weekend for south coast football.

Pompey boss Redknapp knows that his side will join Saints in the Premiership if they beat bottom-of-the-table Sheffield Wednesday at Fratton Park tomorrow.

And he is also backing Saints and Havant & Waterlooville to reach the finals of the FA Cup and FA Trophy.

Redknapp said: "Cup semi-finals don't always go to form but I think it's going to be a Saints-Arsenal final. Gordon's done a great job. He's given Southampton real belief, they work hard and play good football and they've established themselves as a club in the top half of the Premiership. They should have too much for Watford.

"I'd love to see Havant get to the FA Trophy final as well. They've done great so far. Bournemouth are going well and Stevie Coppell's doing a great job at Brighton. I can see them staying up. It's a good time for the south coast."

Isle of Wight-born striker Lee Bradbury could play his first game for Pompey this season tomorrow - against the club where he scored three goals in 11 games, including two in his last two, before returning to Fratton Park.

Yakubu Ayegbeni and Vincent Pericard are both injured, paving the way for former army man Bradbury to play his first Nationwide League Division 1 game for Pompey since December 2001.

Bradbury, who played with Saints' Garry Monk at Hillsborough, said: "I've had no indication of whether I'll play yet but it would be a dream to score the goal that sends us up although it'll be quite strange playing against Wednesday after being up there for the last six weeks.

"I'm much sharper for the games I've played up there and enjoyed it. They're a massive club, they're still getting big crowds, it's just a shame what's happened to them.

"I was thinking about Wednesday's defence last night. I know what they're defenders like to do and hopefully I can capitalise. I got on with all the lads up there and Lloyd Owusu and Ashley Westwood rang me this morning to see if I was playing.

"I already knew Lloyd from when I was at Crystal Palace and he was at Brentford. We shared the same training ground and they're good lads.

"Hopefully we'll win on Saturday and they'll still stay up but I do feel sorry for them because they'll need to win all their remaining games if we beat them.

"Having said that they've still got to play Brighton and have got Walsall on the last day of the season so it's not over for them just yet."

Redknapp, meanwhile, cannot believe that Pompey are on the threshold of the Premiership. He added: "I went to the play-off final at Cardiff last year and my scout told me that it would be Portsmouth there this year. I said "I doubt it!", and now look where we are.

"The new signings have been fantastic. Whenever anyone has been injured they've travelled to the game, whether it's been home or away.

"It would be lovely for them to go up as champions. Once we've got promotion under our belt we'll want the championship. The lads deserve it apart from anything else. Winning the league would be special for everyone."

For chairman Milan Mandaric, a win tomorrow would fufil his promise of delivering Premiership football on his arrival at Fratton Park four years ago.

Mandaric has yet to announce whether he will stay next season but Redknapp has no doubt that he will.

He added: "I'm sure he'll stay, I'll be very surprised if he doesn't."
