As we drink our glass of wine

I hold your hand in mine.

I look into your eyes,

Love is seeing no disguise.

Your laughter is a sensation,

Your whole being a narration.

Everything you are to me,

Your heart holds a golden key.

Sacred visions in the night,

In the darkness you are my light.

Exciting is the nearness of you,

My dearest one, our love is new.

Polly Clark writes: sometimes simplicity is the heart of a memorable poem. I was touched by the undisguised love in this poem.
