THE disappearance of the Chohan family has sparked a major hunt that has led police to Hampshire.
To the casual observer the Chohan's had it all - two children and a modest London home, and they were on the verge of selling their multi-million-pound company.
But all may not have been as it seemed. They are the focus of a police investigation after three generations of the family disappeared.
Amarjit, 46, his wife Nancy, 25, their sons two-month-old Ravinder and Devinder, aged one, and Nancy's mother Charanjit, 51, have not been seen since Valentine's Day.
The investigation moved focus to Hampshire with a report of the family car being involved in a minor accident on a Curbridge road on February 20.
As reported in yesterday's Daily Echo, the family's blue S-registration Ford Escort was involved in a crash in Wangfield Lane but it later transpired the two men in the car gave false names. Sgt Vince Harte said: "There are many things that don't make sense in this inquiry." Sgt Harte said: "We have been to the family home and it looks as though they had not planned to leave. Clothes are still there along with feeding bottles for the children, toys and their clothes."
Questions are being asked of the air freight company that Amarjit built up after he came to Britain from India several years ago. Nobody in the company reported their boss missing. Investigations have shown Amarjit was on the verge of selling the company.
