WHETHER it is multiplication, division, algebra or trigonometry, three young mathematicians have no problem coming up with the perfect answer everytime.

Cams Hill School pupils Tom Brown, 16, Michael Foster, 14 and Emma Warren, 16 have all excelled in the recent United Kingdom Mathematics Chal-lenge.

Out of 4,000 entries, the brainy trio scooped gold awards and have also been chosen to take part in further rounds of the competition.

Tom and Michael will demonstrate their love of numbers in the European Kangaroo, a competition attracting entries from all over the world, Emma achieved one of the highest scores in the country by reaching the top 0.5 per cent and is to go on to the Mathematics Olympiad.

David Wilmot, head teacher at the Portchester school said: "I am absolutely delighted with the success of these three pupils and the excellent work of our maths departments."
