Mexico 86 are a new band, borne from the ashes of Southampton band The Elishe. They already have 20 songs in the can and have launched their own website www.mexico86.com

Bilu and Steve, the former bassist and drummer of The Elishe, are happy to now be a duo, playing all instruments. They have nearly completed their debut album, recorded at their Southampton studio, which should be released this spring. Their 'unique' sound is described as 'a culmination of earth-shattering beats and organ-driven indie grooves, fused with dirty downtown funk.'

The boys have embraced this new challenging beginning, feeling that the talent and creativity was somewhat overlooked in their previous incarnation. Live dates throughout the south are soon to be confirmed.

The boys will also be providing the full soundtrack to a movie, Gold III, produced in the south and to be shown at the Harbour Light cinema in mid-October.

Gold III is a crime comedy, written and directed by Stephen Sambrook and produced by Kevin Reynalds. Part of the Gold trilogy, the film is being made by Truley Golden Films. Further details can be found on the film's website: www.gold-the-trilogy.com
